Recently, students of the Foundation Course at ISDI Parsons, were taken on a study tour to Dehna Village in Maharashtra.
What I realized through this visit of mine was that although the people of this remote village face more troubles than we one could ever imagine, they still manage to overcome them with great zeal.
Their resilience and strong will inspired me to create the following works.
Medium : White Gel Pen on Black paper.
The geometric shapes represent the everyday difficulties and pressures these villagers face.
The tree is an abstraction of a human being. If you don’t succumb easily to life’s pressures, you slowly end up metamorphosing into a stronger human being . “What doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger.”
These were some of our learnings from our trip to Dehna Village.
